Dave is the instigator of the fact that all Focus Feedback colleagues are colleagues. He is the CEO of Focus Feedback. But the big boss? No we can’t call him that – he is in the middle of the team and is involved with everyone. If you ask him what his colleagues are doing, he can tell you everything. But be careful, he will keep you busy for a while.
Dave was also asked a few questions. We asked him about the past and the present.
What is the best moment of your working week?
“There are still so many! For example, when I receive a personal email from one of our customers to tell them how much they have been helped by one of the Focus Feedback colleagues, that brings a big smile to my face. You naturally hope that the influence that you have as a management team on the organization results in employees radiating the customer-oriented attitude that you have in mind. And that is completely the case. Sometimes they go even further than we might expect. If that results in a spontaneous email from one of our customers, then my heart will take a little leap of pride. ”
Focus Feedback has grown considerably over the years. Where it started with two people in an attic room in Brabant, we now work with the whole team spread across the country. For customers all over the world. That will also have brought some changes for you.
“That’s right, the time that we started very small as an organization has fortunately been behind us for some time. Working with such a small team meant that holidays were often very short and not entirely without customer or office contact. During holiday periods, we were often still busy helping our customers. Over time, the organization has grown strongly and continues to operate without the management team present all the time. Every time I notice that I don’t get a call during holidays, I enjoy it and think back to when it was different. ”
What did you spend your first earned salary on?
“I worked as an operator on a passenger ship. It did not earn much, but I was allowed to visit many European countries for free. That was priceless. ”
“I liked listening to music to get through the shifts, but of course I didn’t want to disturb my cabin mates. They often had different work schedules and needed their sleep badly.
At that time, the Walkman was very much on the rise. Sony’s was the iPod of that time. It worked with cassette tapes that you had to turn or rewind. I was too rich for my very first big purchase!”
