Govert ensures that we never sit still, because he is full of ideas. Those ideas go back to the late 1990s when, as a market researcher at Siemens, he introduced and applied the Closed Loop Feedback principle worldwide. For the first time – based on the wild (according to the traditional research world) idea of Govert – feedback was continuously asked instead of periodically as was then usual practice.
From this position, he subsequently founded, acquired, merged and expanded several beautiful companies in the field of Customer Excellence as an entrepreneur. At Focus Feedback, Govert is currently helping with new concepts and bringing concrete applications to the next phase.
What is the most important lesson you have ever learned?
“A lot of lessons come to my mind. Actually there is not one lesson the most important, but all the different lessons and experiences make me who I am now. Life is a great lesson that you have been invited to take. You don’t have to pay tuition for it, but no lesson is as valuable as daily learning. Three very nice life lessons can be heard in Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Address and from this the statement “Stay Hungry – Stay Foolish” might appeal to us the most. ”
This certainly also applies to Govert itself. Always slightly different, creative, ground-breaking and uninhibited in enthusiasm. He is a well-known face with a reputation in the world of customer satisfaction and his involvement in Focus Feedback is based solely on his passion for the profession, for customers, and for employees.
He recently devised and realized Feedback4Sports. After a successful start and a temporary Corona closure, it is now the “talk-of-the-town” again in the sporty Netherlands.
Do you have a nice lesson for us?
“The most complex things are just a combination of several simple things. Some things are just as simple as they are, while no one really knows how simple it is. For example, the meaning of the word “customer”. Few people know that meaning. It comes from the French word “chalant”, now there may not be a bell ringing right away, but the word nonchalant probably will. Casually means without attention, without warmth, without love. If you remove “non”, you will have “attention, warmth and love”. So customer means… .. that exactly. It can be that simple sometimes. ”
Govert stands for enthusiasm, curiosity, inspiration. Steve Jobs, anyone can find hers or his, but Govert doesn’t want to withhold the aforementioned speech at Stanford. Fifteen minutes and you will often think about it afterwards. With a smile, a tear and full of energy. Take a look at this tip from Govert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc
